Cybersecurity "Capture The Flag" (CTF) competitions are a set of challenges where players solve them to receive a "flag", a secret string which can be exchanged for points. CTF competition covers different Cybersecurity fields, including web security, digital forensics, cryptography, reverse-engineering, and more.
The faster and more points a player/team earns, the higher up it moves in rank. Points are distributed based on how taugh the challenges are. More points are allocated to difficult challenges.
Registration to the competition is opened at AMAN Platform - https://ctf.eoman.com/. Those registered can practice by solving the public challenges.
Qualifying round will take place and will be available for 48 hours. Players will compete individually and top scoring players will qualify for the final round.
Final round date. Only top eligible 40 participants from the qualifying round will be able to participate in this final round.
HUSN CTF is to be delivered to Omani students by the Department of Information Systems, College of Economics and Political Science at the Sultan Qaboos University, in partnership with the UK Oman Digital Hub. The UK Oman Digital Hub is a British Embassy Muscat initiative, committed to a collaboration between Oman and the UK with the aim of increasing the digital skill base in Oman.
This CTF is being delivered with the assistance of Crossword Cyber Security, who are writing some of the challenges for the qualifying round that will be hosted at AMAN - eoman.com CTF platform, and BAE systems who are hosting the final for the event on their own specialist platform.
This year this event will take place online, with the entrants competing individually in the qualifying rounds on the 14th January, and then the top 40 entrants forming 10 virtual teams of 4 for the final round on the 21st January.
The winners from the first, second and third teams will be receiving a prize of a 12 month subscription to the Immersive Labs platform (valued at approximately OMR 1500 each), in order to further develop their cyber security skills in a gameified environment, as well as receiving an invitation to the prestigious HUSN CTF awards ceremony at the Kempinski hotel on the 23rd January.

Public challenges at https://ctf.eoman.com/ are provided for participants to practice solving challenges
Participants will have to play individually in the qualifying round. Those who qualify for the final round will have less than a week to form teams to play in the final round
